Darren Kilfara (IJN; Bid 5.5) vs. Mike Kaye (USN)

The I-Boat Raid, CPO Withdrawal, and West Coast Bases adjustments are in play.

IJN Endgame Comments: To be honest, I've lost heart with my position in the game as well. I never seem to give a good account of myself against you - maybe some other time? (Not that Lady Luck has helped my cause, but still...)

While it's not impossible for me to pull this out, now that I'm down to 2 CVLs I don't think it's worth my time and effort to continue.

USN Endgame Comments: I had fortunate die rolls in turns 2 and 3 -- and that's as far as we got

Turn 2: I killed two LBA in SPAC while his LBA and I Boat failed to kill a CV. In Indo, I got night to hose the Zuiho that had gone there

Turn 3 was the killer--he lost Hiyo in Indo to the Brit surface forces.  I sent three CV and my surface to HI to join 6 LBA to counter 7 CV + Hosho + 1 LBA--with day as first round, he ignored my two Marines, then killed all three decks but only got one LBA, losing two big CV and Junyo while Kaga was maxed. He stayed to try and pick off my surface forces--ignored my LBA in round 2 while I continued to hit decks. We had one surface round where my lap enabled me to kill the maxed Kaga; after another day round or two, he had lost all his decks in HI; was going into turn 4 with only two CVL remaining. Lack of decks plus my retaining Pearl drove Darren to sue for peace.
