USN Report: At the end of turn 1 Jim has 3 POC.
Only 1 max-damaged BB and the 7th A.F. escaped from Pearl Harbor. Another 3 BBs
are still bottomed there. Only 2 American carriers were able to base in
Australia. The 5th A.F. was shot down in Indonesia, but both Prince of Wales and
Repulse escaped to Ceylon.
IJN Report: After turn 6 against Nick Markevich my IJN still have a +28 POC lead.
IJN Report: The Stars and Stripes fly over the Imperial Palace, but the Japanese declare victory anyway! Jim Eliason's Japanese defeated Nick Markevich's Allies by 0.5 POC, 2 POC minus 1.5 bid. We played NT1. I never took Pearl or Samoa, but on turn 3 I killed the last of the at start CVs and controlled HI, locking Wasp in HI. Most of the midgame centered on bitter fighting for Dutch Harbor, which changed hands four times. After turn 5 I had a 29 POC lead and lost only 1 POC on turn 6. On both turns 7 and 8 the Allies controlled everything but Indo, but those 6 points (plus 2 denied the Allies) were enough to squeak out the win.
