Jim: Mike Kaye and I are playing a double simultaneous match in the AREA top 10, and just finished turn 2. With me as the IJN, POC is at +10 and the base situation is poor. With me as the Allies the POC is at +15, the base situation is average, and the surface attrition is poor. Mike has a big edge in the match.
Jim: My double simultaneous match with Mike Kaye is essentially over. After 4 rounds of combat on turn 8 my USN are going to rake in 17 POC on the last turn and win by 7.5 POC unless Oi can single handedly beat several surface ships and nine CVs in Japan. However, in the other half of the match Mike's USN has won by 12.5. Both scores include an artificial "bid" of 3.5 added to the USN score. So Mike wins the match.
