Turn 5

Mike: Dan as IJN: Just finished turn 5; IJN +23.
- Dan went after Samoa instead of Pearl on turn 3. US held USM on turn 4

Mike: Dan as USN: IJN +29
- All bases north of USM and CS and east of Bay of Bengal are IJN except Guadalcanal and Philippines (just taken in turn 5). Dan has a Marine(-2) based in P.I.
- HI was uncontrolled last turn
- IJN short on CV: 2 CV, 1 CVL, 7 BB, 13 CA, 6 LBA
- USN short on CA: before arrivals: 1 CV, 9 BB, 3 CA, 10 LBA
- Game could come down to the day/night roll for two NLF to retake P.I.

Turn 7

Dan: Sorry - I have recently gotten engaged and am already working on details for a marriage next year. Plus my fiancée lives in Aurora, about and hour away (or more with traffic) so I am away from e-mail more. I will not be able to complete the games by the 5th [of July - a GM imposed deadline] so the match is yours Mike.

Mike: Will claim victory as the IJN. Recommend we declare the other game as "no contest", without AREA impact to either side. [The GM concurred with Mike's recommendation.]  Was very sorry to see the ultimatum to Dan, but feel thrilled that his fall-off in playing was due to letting much more important matters take priority
