Final Japanese Analysis: Even though the final results were close, I lost this match when Mike was able to save the U.S. Mandate on Turn 3 and Turn 4 without commiting the U.S. fleet to a bloody attrition battle. That enabled Mike to keep the PoC score from ever reaching 29 and keep an excellent position with interior bases. As a result, I could never force the U.S. into a decisive battle. I almost turned the game around with my dramatic victory in the U.S. Mandate on Turn 5 (trapping the USN reinforcements at Samoa on Turn 6), but it wasn't quite enough. Then again, had the single F-Boat shot on Turn 8 missed, I would have won by a 0.5 PoC margin. It was that close! Anyway, the game was intense -- just the way I like them. Congratulations, Mike!
